Contents comparison
On the left is the real media product, this magazines
contents page covers two pages. The main story, featured on the cover, is the
largest image in the contents pages taking up half of each page. On the left
page is one column, the editors column and other small stories are in that
section. On the right page is another column split into two, featuring stories.
The bottom of the two pages is mostly filled with images with short captions
for each and a page number. The order of the most important stories are shown
through colour in this contents, the most important titles are in red boxes,
then yellow font follows and the other stories and captions are in white font. There is also a variation of font sizes; the
largest writing is the title of the editors column and the title above the
contents on the right hand column. The smallest writing is on the captions and
extra information under titles. On these pages I can see at least eight different
font sizes. The page numbers are reasonably small but are in bright colours so that
they stand out more, the more important stories however have larger fonts for
the page number.
On the right is my contents page, mine is only a single
page. Like in the real media product’s contents page my main story has the
largest image in the contents page. I have three columns of information in my contents;
the right hand column is the editor’s column which also features an image from
the ‘fan art of the week’. The left and middle columns show other stories with
the more important ones having bigger and bold titles, some with images. When I
put the title ‘contents’ on this page I maintained using my logo for the title ‘MOSH’.
The red banner at the top of the page displays the issue number and the date of
release. My images have captions like on the real media product, I have also
written extra information under some titles e.g. ‘SUICIDE SILENCE will Eddie Hermida ever replace Mitch Lucker?’. I have also included a variation of font
sizes, in my contents page I can see at least seven different font sizes. My
main story has the largest page number.
